Which dementia causes hypersexuality? Understanding the links between FTD and other dementias

According to a systematic review published in 2023, up to 25% of people with dementia may exhibit inappropriate sexual behavior, including hypersexuality. Among the various types of neurocognitive disorders, behavioral variant Frontotemporal Dementia (bvFTD) is most prominently and uniquely associated with increased sexual drive and disinhibition.
