Do all osteoporosis drugs cause osteonecrosis? A look at medication risks

According to the American College of Rheumatology, the risk of osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) for osteoporosis patients taking oral bisphosphonates is less than 0.1%. It is a common misconception that all osteoporosis drugs cause osteonecrosis, but the risk is predominantly associated with specific antiresorptive medications, particularly at higher doses and with longer-term use.
